Day 747 – 767 28/5/19 – 17/6/19 Normanville

We settled in quickly at Deb & Ron’s place. It feels like old times after being here for 3 months at the same time last year. The only change is that Bill is a year older & has slowed down a bit. Still a creature of habit & still loves his chooks.

View over Adelaide from Mount Lofty & the Matthew Flinders Memorial.IMG_3653

Just down the road is Mt Lofty House. It was originally built in 1852 by Arthur Hardy as his summer house. It was burnt down in the 1983 fires of Ash Wednesday & rebuilt as a Hotel.

Lunch at the German Arms at Hahndorf. Bit chilly out. Holly growing on the main road & Flemish Giant Rabbits in the Leather shop.

A number of wine establishments visited

A few old buildings around the area.

Game of golf at the wonderful Links Lady Bay. Has been very dry for the last few years & all the dams are empty. Greens are tough to read. Plenty of 3 putts.

There is a new brewery opened up just around the corner at Carrickalinga. It has a great view. Naturally we had to try it.

Just a few of the birds around.

Long Weekend over here so off to Adelaide to check out the new Adelaide Oval. Joined the great unwashed on the train. Lots happening around town with construction work all over the place at the casino. Watched GWS play terrible & get beat by the Crows. Great stadium.

Thanks Ulrika for the birthday experience.

Adelaide is full of old buildings and churches.

Thanks again Deb & Ron (& Bill) for the lend of your house.
