Well we left Huonville because of the fires & went up to Mt Field National Park. Unfortunately on the way up we found out a fire had started up the road (15km away). So instead of staying for 3 nights we stayed for 1 & hightailed it back to Hobart. We had enough time to see a few things even though the National Park was closed.
Stayed at Left of Field. Quirky place & Adrian the owner is the same. We will get back there.
Behind the camp is the Tyenna River, arguably one of the best trout fishing in the world.
Found time for a couple at the local.
There is an unused rail line that runs from New Norfolk to Maydena. The locals have set up Railtrack Riders that you can hire & run on the track. Unfortunately it was closed because of the fires.
The local berries were an attraction.

Stayed at Richmond for a few nights & found a few more old buildings.
We had been there previously for a quick visit, this time we had more time to visit a few more happy places.
Found some more indigenous animals.
Another reason we have been hanging around Hobart is that the Wooden Boat Festival is on this weekend. We started by spending the day on the Soren Larsen sailing from Woodbridge through the D’Entrecasteaux Channel & up the Derwent River to participate in the Parade of Sail.
The Soren Larsen was built in Norway in 1949 as a brigantine. Until 1972 it hauled cargo around Scandanavia & Northern Europe. It was then used in many movies & films & during the 1982 filming of Shackleton, she became the first sailing ship in 70 years to reach the Greenland Arctic Circle. Since 2011 it has been based in Sydney.

Today we were back to Constitution Dock to enjoy the festivities. There were boats in bottles.
There were model boats.
There was boat music.
There were fast boats.
There were steam boats.
There were small boats.
There was a Naval Boat.
There were wooden craypots.
And lots of wooden boats.
